Nació el 14/03/1937. Premio Konex de Platino 2003. Jurado Premios Konex 2013. Egresado de la UBA con Diploma de Honor (1961) y Doctor en Medicina (1971). Especialista en neuroendocrinología, ex Profesor Titular y Director del Departamento de Bioquímica Humana de la Facultad de Medicina y actualmente Profesor Emérito. Presidente de la Fundación Instituto de Biología y Medicina Experimental (IBYME) fundado por Bernardo A. Houssay (PK) e Investigador Superior del CONICET (PK), del que fue Director y Vicepresidente. Jurado de concursos docentes, becas y tesis. Publicó 180 trabajos y participa como conferencista en congresos internacionales. Actúa en la Editorial Board de Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology (EE.UU.) y de Hormone Molecular Biology and Clinical Investigation (Francia). Recibió los Premios Ranwell Caputto (Academia Nacional de Ciencias) y Houssay a la Trayectoria en Ciencias Médicas (SECyT). Sus trabajos fueron subsidiados por el National Institutes of Health (EE.UU.), la Comunidad Económica Europea, CONICET y el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación.
