Estudio Coral de Buenos Aires
Platinum Konex Award 2009: Choir
Platinum Konex Award 1999: Chamber group of over 6 performers

Presented its first concert on September 9, 1981. Platinum Konex  Award 2009: Choir, and Platinum Konex Award 1999: Chamber group of over 6 performers. Most of its thirty members are professional singers with academic training. This enables them to deal with a repertoire of highly technical and stylistic difficulties. The group has specialized in an avant-garde repertoire of the 20thand 21stcenturies and has presented Argentinian audiences with a large number of works that are highly esteemed but not easily accessible to amateur choirs. Casting a glance only atthe last decade we can highlight the premiere in Argentina of works by Stockhausen, Berio, Nono, Xenakis, Schnittke, Cage, Kurtag, Ligeti and R. Strauss. Created and always conducted by Carlos Lopez Puccio (PK) with the assistance of María del Carmen Aguilar (PK), it has released 13 records since its inception and, more recently, countlessunmonetized and freely accessible live videos. In Argentina it has performed in the most important concert halls, such as the Teatro Colón, where it has appearedabout ten times. Estudio Coral has also toured France, Spain, Germany and Belgium and has been awarded many other prizes. Estudio Coral de Buenos Aires is a completely independent group that has never been patronized; this makes it the only private choir to have been awarded the Platinum Konex Prize (twice).
