Teacher of Spanish, Literature and Latin and doctor of Music of the Faculty of Musical Arts and Sciences in the Catholic University, Argentina. She has produced many works of musicological research, treating Argentine music, and these have appeared in collective works. She is the author, among other works, of Alberto Ginastera, Ginastera in Five Movements (winner of the Municipal Prise´s Essay category), La música en el ideario de Sarmiento, Antecedentes de la Musicología en la Argentina and Historia de la música. She has collaborated on the New Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians (6th edition). Focusing on the theme of Latin American Colonial music, and she has also participated in the Ibero?American Dictionary of Music, edited en Spain as part of the cultural activities linked to the 5th Centenary of de Discovery of America. In 1991, she won first prize in the Robert Stevenson History of Music and Musicology International Competition for her study on Argentine musical creation in the 80´s generation, published by the National Academy of Fine Arts. A classical music columnist of the Buenos Aires La Nación daily newspaper, she has been a member of the National Academy of Fine Arts since 1999 and member of the Argentine Academy of History. Sha won the Platinum Konex Award in 2007 and the Konex Merit Diploma in 1989.
